Our Mission

Honoring Legacy. Building Futures.

The National HBCU Black Wall Street Career Fest is a transformative annual event that bridges the gap between Historically Black Colleges and Universities and the professional world. Rooted in the legacy of Black Wall Street — America's most prosperous Black community — the Fest champions economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, and career development for the next generation.

Founded by Edmond W. Davis and his wife and co-founder, Monica Davis, the initiative connects HBCU students and alumni with top employers, business leaders, and community advocates who share a commitment to equity, opportunity, and lasting impact.

The National HBCU Black Wall Street Career Fest grew step by step — guided by purpose, partnership, and progress.

What Drives Us

Three Pillars of the Fest

01

Purpose

Every element of the Career Fest is anchored in a clear purpose: to create pathways of opportunity for HBCU students and alumni that honor the entrepreneurial spirit of Black Wall Street.

02

Partnership

We build meaningful partnerships with corporations, nonprofits, government agencies, and community organizations who are committed to diverse hiring, mentorship, and economic investment.

03

Progress

Each year the Fest grows — more employers, more attendees, more opportunities. Progress is measured not just in numbers, but in the careers launched and businesses started by our participants.

What We Do

Career Expo & Employer Showcase

Top employers from across industries set up booths, conduct on-site interviews, and connect directly with HBCU talent. Students leave with real leads, real contacts, and real opportunities.

Entrepreneurship & Business Development

Workshops and panels led by successful Black entrepreneurs give attendees the tools, mindset, and networks needed to launch and grow their own ventures.

Professional Development Workshops

From resume building and interview prep to personal branding and financial literacy, our workshops equip students with skills that translate directly into career success.

Networking & Mentorship

Structured networking sessions pair students with industry professionals and alumni mentors who provide guidance, accountability, and long-term support.

Community & Cultural Programming

The Fest celebrates Black history, culture, and achievement through keynote addresses, panel discussions, and cultural programming that honors the legacy of Black Wall Street.

Our Story

Guided by Purpose, Partnership & Progress

1

Step 1

The Vision Is Born

Edmond W. Davis identifies a critical gap between HBCU talent and employer access. Inspired by the entrepreneurial legacy of Black Wall Street, he begins laying the groundwork for a career-focused event rooted in community and culture.

2

Step 2

Building the Foundation

Early partnerships are forged with HBCUs, community organizations, and forward-thinking employers. The framework for the Career Fest takes shape — combining career expo, entrepreneurship programming, and cultural celebration.

3

Step 3

The First Fest

The inaugural National HBCU Black Wall Street Career Fest launches, bringing together students, alumni, employers, and community leaders for a day of connection, opportunity, and empowerment.

4

Step 4

Growth & Expansion

The Fest grows year over year — more employers, more programming, more cities. Media coverage amplifies the mission and the HBCU Black Wall Street brand gains national recognition.

5

Step 5

A Movement, Not Just an Event

The Career Fest evolves into a year-round movement. Workshops, webinars, and community initiatives extend the mission beyond the annual event, creating lasting pathways for HBCU communities nationwide.
